Warning on property rental scam

Hi,

There are currently a number of scams doing the rounds in the USA whereby people purporting to work for InfoTech Communications are looking to rent apartments while working in the US on secondment.

Typically, they say that their employer will send the apartment owner a cheque for their whole month's salary and the owner can then refund them the difference.

This is a scam. InfoTech has no employees, current or former, working in the USA. If you are approached by one of these scammers we suggest you contact the police.

You can tell that these are scammers by the incredibly poor English and the stupid names like "Mills D. Miller" and "Stuart Leonard".

Below is a typical introductory e-mail. This one came from braxon007@yahoo.com.
